Your wrist is the joint between the two bones of the lower arm (radius and ulna), and the five bones of the hand which is made up of eight carpal bones. The muscles and tendons attach to all of these bones allowing you to rotate your wrist (e.g. screwing in a light bulb), bend and flex your wrist (e.g. bouncing a basketball) and move your thumb to the edge of your hand, (e.g. writing with a pen). Because of the complexity and frequent use of the wrist joint, injuries are common.
In this guide, we will walk you through some of the most common conditions of the wrist and outline which Actimove Sports Edition supports may be most suitable in facilitating enhanced comfort for these conditions.
Moderate to severe soft tissue injuries to muscles, ligaments and tendons that surround and support our joints which should be stabilised after medical care to support good healing.

When a sudden forceful twist or blow forces the wrist beyond its natural range of motion. This movement may cause stretching and/or tearing of the ligaments around the wrist joint, resulting in sudden pain, acute swelling and bruising. The degree of sprain can range from mild (slight stretching) to severe (complete tearing).
