Method of extraction:
Lemon is obtained from the peel of lemons by cold compression.
Lemon is a very mobile liquid of a very light, fresh and sweet odour, truly reminiscent of the ripe peel.
Antimicrobial, antirheumatic, antiseptic, antispasmodic, astringent, bactericidal, carminative, cicatrisant, depurative, diaphoretic, diuretic, febrifuge, haemostatic, hypotensive, insecticidal, rubefacient, tonic, vermifuge.
Mode of administration:
Topical application – massage, compress, bath, ointment, skincare; Inhalation – direct inhalation, diffuser, oil vaporiser.
Lemon is non-toxic, non-irritant. Sensitisation can occur in some people. It should not be used on the skin prior to exposure to the sun as it is phototoxic.
I am switching to more natural products and as part of this now use a half and half mixture of white wine vinegar and water to clean all my surfaces and sinks. It does a really good job and although the smell of the vinegar disappears very quickly I bought this Lemon oil to give a nice fragrance to the kitchen spray - and Eucalyptus oil for the bathroom. They both do a great job!
