Therapy Furniture FAQs

The following information is not meant to be in any way prescriptive and is merely content that has been compiled to help you make an informed decision about which product could suit you. Please remember to contact your physician or sports medicine professional for proper, qualified guidance.

Which therapy table should I buy?

It depends on what you intend to use it for, a logically if you are not permanently based in a clinic then a portable couch is a good idea. If you want full control over your massage and sports therapy sessions whilst ensuring complete comfort for your clients then a hydraulic treatment couch such as Seers is a recommendable option. Our portable couches do however have a decent level of quality too because the foam is firm and durable yet very comfortable.

What do you need for a massage or therapy table?

Whether you are just starting out or looking to replace your whole set-up then in addition to getting your Massage table, you will need:

  • Couch covers, linen and towels
  • Bolster and face cushions
  • Couch Roll and Face covers
  • Couch Roll holder
  • Therapist Stool
  • PPE and cleaning supplies
  • Storage

Also, consider:

  • Candles or RGB/LED lights for ambience
  • A diffuser for Aromatherapy
  • Posters or other decoration
  • Speakers for Music

For a thorough explanation of how you can set up your Therapy room, please read our Buyers Guide titled How to set up your Clinic Room

How do I set up my therapy table/couch?

There is a video guide on our Physique Therapy Couch product page, this set-up method applies to most portable therapy tables.

Why should I choose a Seers couch over other treatment tables/couches?

Seers Medical is a very high-quality brand of couches as they are the leading UK Manufacturer of Medical Treatment, Examination & Rehabilitation Couches. If you are a physiotherapist then seers medical couches are great for important assessments or procedures as they offer more control over the treatment as opposed to static therapy tables. As a massage or sports therapist, you could get by with a traditional therapy table but you would also benefit from more stability, more mutual comfort, and easier adjustments of the patient/client with a Seers therapy table.  please take a look at our Therapy Couches Buyers Guide for more information on hydraulic and electrical couches.

Should I get a portable therapy table or hydraulic therapy couch?

If you’re just starting out, you should be fine with a portable table, unless you’re working in one of these three situations:

  • You’re working with a population that might have some trouble getting up on your table (for example, people with mobility issues).
  • You have mobility issues (like you can’t easily get up on a table or go into certain body-saving positions like a lunge or squat) so need the extra help of in-session height adjustability.
  • You definitely want to have one eventually, will benefit from it now and you have the money.

You might also find a portable table to be a better option if you were trained on more narrow therapy tables

If you are looking for specific information on portable therapy couches then please take a look at our Portable Therapy Furniture Buyer's Guide
