Our Zinc Oxide Tape Range

Zinc Oxide tape is a non-stretch cotton or rayon tape with a Zinc Oxide Adhesive. These tapes are primarily used to help protect and prevent weak joints from injury. Whether you’re looking for some light strapping or strong rigid adhesive, you’re sure to find it here!

Our zinc oxide tapes feature a serrated edge making them easy to tear, both width ways and lengthways.

We supply the leading brands of zinc oxide tapes and have a variety of widths and colours available. The rolls are extremely long for multiple treatments.

You’ll also find taping packs in this section which include an extra rigid zinc oxide tape and fixation tape.

Zinc Oxide Tape FAQs

The following information is not meant to be in any way prescriptive and is merely content that has been compiled to help you make an informed decision about which product could suit you. Please remember to contact your physician or sports medicine professional for proper, qualified guidance.

What is Zinc Oxide tape?

Zinc Oxide Tape is a non-stretch cotton or rayon tape with a Zinc Oxide Adhesive. These tapes are primarily used to help protect and prevent weak joints from injury. Whether you’re looking for some light strapping or strong rigid adhesive, we've got you covered with our range of Zinc Oxide tapes.

Is Zinc Oxide tape the same as Atheltic tape?

Yes, Zinc Oxide tapes are also commonly known as athletic tapes

Is athletic tape the same as Kinesiology Tape?

Athletic Tape and Kinesiology Tape are distinctly different, athletic tape is distinguishable by its plain white colour and Kinesiology Tape has a range of colours but typically comes in bright colours. Athletic tape is used when the aim is to restrict movement, it is thick and usually tightly wrapped. Therefore, the compression restricts blood flow. Kinesiology tape on the other hand aims to maintain normal range of motion so it is used less as a preventative measure and more as a treatment. Take a look at our Kinesiology Tapes if it sounds like this is what you are looking for.

What is athletic tape (Zinc oxide tape) used for?

Traditional athletic tape is used for limiting the range of motion because it is quite thick and is wrapped tightly around the joints which can help the body heal faster versus if the movement was not restricted. It can also serve as a splint for sprained joints, which provides effective support and helps speed up recovery as well.

How long can you leave athletic tape (Zinc Oxide Tape) on?

Athletic tape should only be applied briefly before the joints and muscles are used such as before or after warm-up and removed immediately after the activity. This will limit the amount of pressure put on the joint.

Is pre-wrap the same as athletic (Zinc Oxide) tape?

Athletic Pre wrap is used under athletic tape to help eliminate skin irritation caused by repeated taping. It is also used to secure cold packs and bandages.

What does prophylactic taping mean?

Prophylactic taping is a preventive technique used for the protection, stabilization, and care of athletic injuries. This taping technique is used to prevent injuries by giving the necessary joints extra support and protection. You should never use this technique as an alternative to strengthening exercises, it should be used as a temporary taping solution to supporting a joint.

Which Zinc Oxide Tape should I get?

If you're looking for a great entry-level but reliable tape then Tiger Tape Zinc Oxide Strapping and Tiger Tan Tape Zinc Oxide are the perfect tape for you. Mueller M tape Coloured and M Tape Zinc Oxide are great mid-range branded options and come with the faultless quality you would expect of Mueller. BSN Medical is top of the range when it comes to Zinc Oxide tapes - their Hypafix, Leukotape and Strappal are the most reliable tapes, although, this is of course reflected in the price as it is slightly more expensive than the other products we supply.
