A Practical Guide To Kinesiology Taping by John Gibbons is a must for any physical therapist involved in the treatment of patients, athletes, or anyone who may present with any type of sports-related injury, albeit peripheral limbs, trunk and/or cervical spine pain.
This book has also been written for athletes and coaches who want to have a better understanding of how and when to apply these taping principles.
In A Practical Guide To Kinesiology Taping by John Gibbons you will be taken on an educational journey as he guides you, step by step, through the entire process of taping by first marking an area of dysfunction, then preparing and cutting tape, followed by application with variants for specific problems. The opening chapter discusses the principles and benefits of the kinesiology taping method, explaining what it is and when and why you would apply it. The following chapters are designed as a practical guide on the application of tape to treat each individual area of pain and dysfunction through the use of pictorial demonstrations; he also gives a few examples of injuries common to each area of pain and the subsequent variations in taping applications, the book has over 300 images and illustrations with the use of Tiger K Tape giving you a clearer understanding (as seen in pictures above)
John has the ability to explain this fascinating, yet not widely understood, subject in a relatively simplistic way that should help every reader develop the ability to apply these phenomenal techniques, with confidence, in any setting.
This book is unique as John highlights over 50 specific areas of pain that are identified through individual artistic illustrations that have actually been drawn onto the body. A must-have on any therapist¹s shelf!
Example of kinesiology taping technique for Knee Pain using Tiger K Tape - Patella tendonitis and Patella femoral pain
John Gibbons demonstrates a kinesiology taping technique using Tiger K Tape for treating Plantar Fasciitis.
Im thinking of going into taping, and A Practical Guide to Kinesiology Taping book has given me much insight to go on the course. Good quality pages and colourful photos. I find the QR code links brilliant, takes you direct to the video!

Great little book for anyone who needs to know how to K Tape! Full of information, clear diagrams and instructions. Covers a wide range of techniques. Plus it comes with three rolls of K Tape so it's very good value for money considering K Tape can be quite expensive on its own.

I was very pleased with this. It arrived quickly and was left with a neighbour. The book is a very clear guide to taping and the additional tapes are a welcome extra.
